New year, New title

Learning contentment sounds like such a disciplined thing to do. I think of pulling my bootstraps up and trudging forward shouting "I can do this!" and "Onward Christian Soldier!" Oh boy do I mean something different though. I am learning that contentment must be a surrender of my desires, my will, and my own ways. About 7 years ago I went to a conference which featured Elyse Fitspatrick teaching on "The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment." It totally rocked my world. Since at that time I was really struggling with contentment in being single it was just what I needed. Now though, I see it still as a huge area I need and want to grow in. I want to be so satisfied in my relationship with the Lord and my love for Him that all things pale in comparison.
